The Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching has been a hub of reflective, evidence-informed, and innovative pedagogical practices at Northwestern University for over 30 years. The Searle Center offers dynamic programming, curated resources, and thought partnership for Northwestern instructors, postdocs, and graduate students.

Offerings include:

  • Searle Fellows Program: University-wide initiative for early career research and teaching-line faculty, often highlighted in promotion and tenure dossiers.
  • Consultations and Formative Feedback: Individualized thought partnership on a variety of topics, providing confidential, non-evaluative feedback.
  • Learning & Teaching Guides: Evidence-based teaching strategies on timely topics such as teaching during turbulent times, making large classes feel smaller, and the pedagogical possibilities of generative AI.
